1. I cleaned the touchscreen very, very thoroughly with a clean
piece of optical cloth. And prior to applying the screen protector,
I made sure that there were no more visible specks of dust on the
screen.
Somehow, though, while I was applying the protector, a speck of
dust got in the way. And the pressure from the application somehow
caused the speck to break into the touchscreen, causing a pinhole
crack.
It doesn't get in the way of gameplay, but I now have a 2mm-wide
blotch on the touchscreen. Sigh.... 
2. As for the wart... I honestly don't know how I got it. As I
mentioned earlier, I don't (and never have) engaged in such...
activities.
